On seeing a masterpiece....
Dear Editor:
When
visiting Wimberley's art galleries, I see paintings of flower covered fields
with maybe a grass-nosing horse or a chewing cow or a watching deer for
a bit of focus. This morning I viewed a scape brushed softly red with Indian
paints, darkened rose with poppie's flimsy petals, lavendered with Verbena
clusters, deep blue-starred with yellow-throated Gilia, softened white
with yellow-centered Blackfoots, notch-pleated yellow with Bitterweed,
yellow-dandelioned, and wildly pinked with stems of garlic, all randomly
splashed by a celestial hand on a canvas of early green and weedy covering
stitched with slender stems of greenthread and Barbara's buttons--a masterpiece
framed on top and sides by a cedared sweeping valley and on bottom by the
tawny-toned Texas rustic of the incredibly hospitable Mountain View Motel.
I call the painting Wimberley's Touch.

Dear Owners of lovely Mountain View Lodge,
We
are not sure if you remember our family. We have visited your lovely Motel
several times together with our 2 kids Jennifer and Sven last year. We
are happy to spend our vacation again in Texas this year and of course
no trip to Texas without a few nights in Mountain View Motel, the nicest
Motel we know with the most friendliest owners in good old Texas. So hopefully
you have 1 room available from August, 1 till August 4 (3 nights). What
we need is a room with 2 beds (if possible our favorite room # 10). We
are all looking forward to seeing you again. Especially our little son
Sven who is so excited about the dinosaur tracks.

Hi!
Everything is "gearing up" for me in preparation for Nashville. I have a studio date this Friday night in Dallas before I fly out Saturday. By the time I return, your month will be over, and I'm sure a rest will be welcome. My rest at Mountain View is something I continue to cherish each day! You are such special people.
Allison
Jan & Paul,
Thank you for your hospitality. The "Mountain View" is breath taking & a gift from god. The wild flowers were a special touch... thank you for your thoughtfulness.
Dear Mr. & Mrs. Prasek,
I am sending you this note to let you know how much we appreciated your hospitality during our small "crisis." When our car broke down we felt so helpless and stranded. Your help and beautiful hotel were very comforting. We also wish to thank Trey Austin for taking us into town, but when I looked in the Wimberley phone book, I couldn't find the address. I hope he knows how helpful he was to us. Thank You....
Jan & Paul,
Just in case your daughter didn't send you one of these, I thought I would. Love your place. Had a great time, as usual. The pleasant attitude of the owners had something to do with that. Know that you are being envied.

Dear Praseks,
Our Hill Country roads vacation was enchanted by our night spent at Mountain View, watching the beautiful sunrise and meeting such nice people. Copies of the pics are enclosed along with our "thank you."

We will always remember how we celebrated our 25th... can Hawaii be any nicer...we'll see as we continue our 25 years together. Our visits with the two of you were an added blessing. Have a happy summer!
